Ghanaian dancehall superstar Shatta Wale has announced a major philanthropic commitment through his ride-hailing business, Shaxi. Taking to his social media platforms, the award-winning artiste revealed that Shaxi is on track to become Kumasi’s leading ride-hailing app, and as part of giving back, 20% of proceeds from its operations in the city will be donated to the Manhyia Palace.

According to him, the funds will go into supporting schools and hospitals across the Ashanti Region, a gesture aimed at improving education and healthcare.

“Small time Shaxi will be Kumasi’s number one ride-hailing app and I will give 20% of our proceeds to the Manhyia Palace to cater for schools and hospitals in the region. The love is too much, the support is too much. Thank you, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. I bow, my King,” Shatta Wale shared on social media.

The dancehall icon also expressed deep appreciation to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, praising the Asantehene for his leadership and support.

Shatta Wale’s pledge has since attracted wide attention, with fans and followers commending his decision to combine business growth with social impact. The move not only positions Shaxi as a strong competitor in Kumasi’s ride-hailing market but also reinforces his commitment to community development.

Over the weekend, Shatta Wale was in Kumasi for Sarkodie’s Rapperholic Homecoming Concert at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, where he performed together with Sarkodie and thrilled the massive crowd with their joint performances.
