Ghanaian highlife artiste Kwadwo Akwaboah Snr has passed on.
Reports indicate that the veteran passed on in the wee hours of Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.
His passing was announced by his son Akwaboah Jnr in an Instagram post.
He shared a photo of his father with the caption: “RIP DADDY.”
Akwaboah Senior was a prominent member of the Ghanaian music industry and an inspiration to many aspiring artistes.
He was a talented guitarist and often played with some of Ghana’s great musicians, including the late C.K. Mann and Rex Owusu Marfo.
He was also a member of the legendary Ghanaian Highlife band, the Oheneba Ntim Barima band.
He is credited with songs like ‘Awerekyekyere’, ‘Hini Me’, among others.
