The Ghana Police Service has arrested three suspects in connection with the alleged kidnapping and murder of 33-year-old Nana Yaw Kyere, who was reported missing on September 22, 2026.
The suspects have been identified as Philip Dzifa Kofi Tefe, Sarah Osei Adams and Josiah Obodai.
According to the Police, the arrests followed investigations by the Missing Persons Unit after Kyere was reported missing.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim left his residence at Kokomlemle in Accra on September 19, 2026, in his Honda Civic vehicle but did not return.
Police investigations subsequently established that he had allegedly been lured to the residence of Philip Tefe at Teshie Agbleza by Sarah Osei Adams.
The Police said the two suspects later confessed to their involvement and told investigators that Tefe attacked Kyere during a confrontation and struck him with a metallic object, causing injuries.
The victim was subsequently moved to another room, where he was allegedly left unattended and later died.
Investigations further revealed that Kyere’s body was transported in a Kia Morning vehicle to a location near the motorway on September 20, where it was dumped in a bush and set ablaze.
The partially burnt body was discovered at Community 18 on September 21, 2026.
The victim’s biological mother and an uncle subsequently identified the body at the Police Hospital morgue on September 24.
Meanwhile, the Police have retrieved the victim’s iPhone 12, which Philip Tefe allegedly sold for GH¢100.
The buyer, identified as Sunday Omeje, has been cautioned and detained for allegedly dishonestly receiving the phone.
Further investigations also led to the arrest of Josiah Obodai, who is being investigated in connection with the disposal of the body.
His father’s Kia Morning vehicle, which the Police believe was used to transport the body, has also been impounded.
The three suspects remain in Police custody and are expected to be put before the court as investigations continue.
The Police said efforts are also underway to identify and arrest other persons who may have been involved in the incident.
