During the adolescent girls reproductive health care education for students of D.W.M Primary and junior high school at Nima Ayawaso East Municipal, Mr. Fred Agbobli the programs coordinator, Dad In Memorian Foundation disclosed that the foundation’s core objective is to empower women and children through reproductive health care education because women and children are the vulnerable people in the society.

However, Mr. Fred stated that the foundation set up the program to help women and children and protect them while empowering them to know and defend their rights.

Moreover, he revealed the challenges the foundation faced while setting up the program because initially, the public schools did not allow them since there were no good response from the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the regional director when they had sent their letters so they decided to set up the program in the private schools because the private schools are part of the education sector.

In addition, Nene Dokucho Sakonor IV, who was the special guest of honor advised the students especially the girls that whatever the nurse told them about their reproductive health been it the way they eat, live and exercise, they should pay heed to all of it because their health matters a lot.

On her part, Aunty Rita a nurse from Nima government clinic educated both the adolescent boys and girls about their reproductive system and also changes in an adolescent child. She also advised both adolescent boys and girls to abstain from sex to prevent teenage pregnancy.

Finally, some students of D.W.M primary and junior high school acknowledge the media and the Dad In Memorian Foundation for bringing up such program to educate the adolescents on how to stay hygienic and healthy.
