Honourable Frank Asiedu Bekoe, also known as Protozoa, Member of Parliament for Suhum Constituency, has taken a significant step towards maintaining a clean environment in his constituency.
On March 15th, 2025, he organized a community clean-up exercise, bringing together various
stakeholders, including Chiefs, pastors, assembly members, drivers, traders, security services, journalists, among others.
This initiative follows a meeting held two weeks prior, where Honourable Asiedu Bekoe engaged with community leaders to discuss strategies for keeping the municipality clean. The MP emphasized that cleanliness is a collective responsibility, stating, “dirt shouldn’t be something that must be part of us.” He encouraged everyone to participate in clean-up exercises, acknowledging that it’s a duty that requires collective effort.
Honourable Asiedu Bekoe praised the participation of various groups, including the Chief of Suhum, Osaberima Ayeh Kofi, other Chiefs, traders, drivers, security services, the chief Imam of Suhum and the entire people of Suhum. He noted that the clean-up exercise would not be a one-time event but would be held regularly to maintain the cleanliness of Suhum Constituency.
The MP also highlighted the importance of leadership in maintaining cleanliness, citing President Mahama’s delay in appointing a new Municipal Chief Executive as a contributing factor to the current state of dirt in the constituency. He urged the President to appoint Municipal Chief Executives as soon as possible to address the leadership vacuum and enable Assembly Members to effectively tackle the issue of dirt in the constituency.
