The fire outbreak occurred on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, when several shops at the Aboso Main Lorry Station were engulfed in flames, resulting in significant damage to property.
Inspector Atubra, who was reportedly the first police officer to arrive at the scene, immediately took action to assist people trapped in the affected area and helped evacuate them to safety.
His swift response and courage were highly commended by eyewitnesses, who subsequently recommended him for recognition and promotion for his quick intervention and efforts to protect lives and property.
The promotion highlights the Police Administration’s commitment to recognising and rewarding officers who demonstrate exceptional courage, dedication and professionalism in the line of duty.
