Nigerian movie actor Alexx Ekubo is dead. The popular Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo was 40-years-old.
The actor had been off the screen for some time, and reportedly died after battling an undisclosed illness.
Colleagues and close associates on Tuesday confirmed his passing, expressing grief over the loss of a figure widely regarded as one of Nollywood’s most charismatic and stylish actors.
In a tribute, fellow actor Godwin Nnadiekwe said the news had left him devastated, describing Ekubo as “a rare soul” as he struggled to come to terms with the loss.
Ekubo was known for his roles in romantic comedies and drama films. He built a strong reputation in Nollywood with performances in productions such as Weekend Getaway and The Bling Lagosians.
He was also recognised for his fashion sense and influence among younger audiences.
Over the years, he featured in numerous films and television productions, earning acclaim for his versatility and strong screen presence.
His death has triggered an outpouring of tributes from industry players, with many, including Funke Akindele, Blessing CEO, Kate Henshaw and Mercy Johnson, taking to social media to mourn the actor.
