Former Ghana international Sulley Muntari has scored his first goal for Hearts of Oak against WAFA in the Ghana Premier League.

Muntari scored a penalty in the second half to give the Phobians the lead again in the entertaining match.

The former AC Milan and Inter star stepped up and converted a penalty to make it 2-1 for Hearts after Henry Owari cancelled out Kwadwo Obeng Junior’s opening goal.

The 37-year-old now has two goal contributions since joining the reigning Ghanaian champions last month. He registered an assist two weeks ago in the 1-1 draw against Legon Cities.

Muntari is enjoying himself in the local league and there are few calls for him to be included in the Black Stars squad for the upcoming World Cup playoff against Nigeria.

He has received the backing of Hearts of Oak National Chapters Committee Public Relations Officer, Kobby Jones to stage a return after eight years.
