Organisers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards have announced a change of venue for this year’s ceremony, citing the need to match the growing scale of the event.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Charterhouse Productions said the 27th edition of the awards will now take place at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre, instead of the previously announced Palms Convention Centre.
The ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, 9 May 2026, starting at 19:00 local time.
According to the organisers, the decision reflects the “evolving scale and production ambition” of the awards scheme. They added that the Grand Arena offers greater capacity, improved technical infrastructure and enhanced production flexibility needed to deliver a world-class show.
The venue has hosted the awards since 2019 and is considered well-suited to the staging, broadcast and audience engagement demands of the event.
Charterhouse also expressed appreciation to stakeholders, including headline sponsor Telecel Ghana and government partners, for their continued support.
The Telecel Ghana Music Awards is one of Ghana’s biggest cultural events, celebrating achievements in the country’s music industry and recognising artists across multiple genres.
Organisers say they are looking forward to welcoming nominees, guests and fans to what they describe as an “unforgettable evening” celebrating Ghanaian music and culture.
