Dennis Miracles Aboagye says his recent detention by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has only strengthened his determination to contest for the position of National Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In a statement released after his release from EOCO custody, Aboagye said he remained “unbroken” and “more ready than ever,” while expressing gratitude to party supporters who demonstrated and called for his release during his detention.
He alleged that false narratives were circulated about the circumstances surrounding his arrest, insisting that the truth would ultimately prevail. Aboagye also denied claims that EOCO questioned him over an alleged GH¢55 million, stating, “There was no discussion of any GH¢55 million with me by EOCO. None.”
According to him, the support he received from NPP faithful while in detention reinforced his resolve to continue pursuing the party’s National Communications Director position.
“If the intention was to break me, it has failed. If the intention was to scare me, it has failed spectacularly,” he said, adding that he remains committed to leading the NPP’s Communications Directorate and shaping the party’s narrative.
Aboagye thanked his legal team, the NPP leadership, and supporters for standing by him, saying the experience had only added “fuel to the fire” as he continues his political journey.
