A 19-year-old woman, Emmanuella Asante, has been arrested in connection with the death of her 33-year-old boyfriend, Enoch Abrokwa, who allegedly suffered a stab wound during a misunderstanding at Ofankor Barrier in Accra.

According to a press release issued by the Accra Regional Police Command on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, the incident occurred on Friday, October 9, at the deceased’s business premises.

Preliminary investigations indicate that a disagreement between the two escalated into a confrontation, during which the suspect allegedly stabbed Abrokwa in the chest with a piece of broken glass.

Abrokwa was rushed to a hospital at Taifa-Burkina and later referred to the Ridge Hospital, where he underwent surgery for a deep wound that affected his intestines. He, however, died on October 14 while receiving treatment.

The police said the suspect was arrested on October 10 after the complainant and three other individuals brought her to the police. She reportedly admitted to stabbing the deceased and remains in police custody as investigations continue.

Emmanuella Asante has since appeared before the court and been remanded into police custody. She is expected to reappear on November 3, 2026.

The Accra Regional Police Command has urged the public to resolve disagreements peacefully and refrain from violence, adding that investigations are ongoing and appropriate action will be taken in accordance with the law.
