On Thursday, August 10, 2023, Lawyer Francis Xavier Sosu, Member of Parliament (MP) for Madina, donated health items worth over GH₵1million to both public and private health facilities within his constituency.
The donation which forms part of the Sosu Health Project is to support quality health care delivery in his constituency.
The items donated include ; hospital beds, hospital tables, wheelchairs, stadiometers, anesthetic equipment, orthopedic kits, over 100 big boxes of cannulas, disinfectants, hand sanitizers, soaps, surgical gowns and drapes, bed spread and tracheostomy, zimmer frames, safety boxes, oxygen mask, walking aids and many more.
Lawyer Francis Xavier-Sosu mentioned the donation forms part of his vision to achieve Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 3) which seeks to ensure good health and well-being of the people of Madina.
He expressed appreciation to his team specifically the Sosu Health Project, Life for Relief and Development, the Municipal Health Directorate, for facilitating to ensure a successful donation.
The LaNkwantanang-Madina Health Director, Dr. Priscilla Anima Siaw upon receiving the equipments lauded Hon. Sosu whiles stating this is the best donation received by the Health Directorate in this year.
She mentioned the equipment will be put into good use to achieve its purpose of quality and efficient delivery of health care.
She acknowledged the various activities by the Sosu’s Health Project under the leadership of Dr. Yennunsom Maalug.
“I have noticed your several free health screening outreaches since you assumed office and I can see how committed you are to improving the living standards of your constituents.
Health Facilities present to pick the donated items included Madina Polyclinic (Rawlings Circle), Pentecot Hospital Alpha, Pantang Hospital, Damfa Health Center and Madina Polyclinic Kekele.
Beneficiary Hospitals and Health centers commended Hon. Sosu for such effort and his consistent commitment to Health improvement in Madina.
